Let’s face it, flossing is definitely not our favorite activity! However, flossing is crucial to a healthy smile and a healthy gum line. Without flossing, your gums will suffer and your teeth will follow that fate quickly! To make flossing easier and less daunting, the Waterpik has become a great alternative. Proving to be just as effective, if not more effective at removing hard to reach plaque and debris, the Waterpik may ease your flossing woes!
What is a Waterpik?
A Waterpik is a dental hygiene machine that uses water to floss in between teeth. With different heads and speeds, you can floss with ease! The Waterpik is often recommended for those who have sensitive gums, or for those that dislike regular flossing. This machine is both efficient and easy to use!
Benefits of a Waterpik
If you are interested in purchasing a Waterpik, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that there are many different perks to owning this machine! For one, there are many different tools that come with the Waterpik. With heads varying in size, you are sure to find a Waterpik tool that suits you best. Along with the differing heads, the Waterpik offers different speed and intensity selections. This makes it easy to find a water irrigation speed or pulse that is not too strong and not too soft. You will be able to find your sweet spot and floss comfortably!
Is regular flossing pointless?
Of course not! If you are not interested in a Waterpik, or just choose to stick with regular flossing, your teeth are still safe! Flossing has been a staple in our dental hygiene routines for as long as any of us can remember. It will most likely always be a staple! If you love flossing or prefer it over the high-tech Waterpik, keep on flossing! Flossing regularly will still keep your gums healthy and your teeth shining bright! However my patients choose to floss, I’m simply happy they are flossing at all!
Find what works for you
As with all things, find what works best for you! If you have tried the Waterpik and would rather floss, then floss! If you hate flossing, try the Waterpik! There are always options out there, test the waters and see what you like best!
