Are you ready for a brighter, whiter smile? If you are, we have an option that is faster and easier with no sensitivity compared to other teeth whitening options. It is laser teeth whitening. Just as every smile is unique, so are the results of this treatment. While whitening varies from patient to patient, laser teeth whitening can help lighten teeth by even more shades, providing results in less than 20 minutes.
How laser teeth whitening works
This is a cosmetic dental procedure that is performed in our office at Pinnacle Peak Family Dentistry. It includes protecting the gums and lips with a rubber or plastic guard. The teeth are then soaked in a whitening solution to penetrate the teeth and break up the stains, making your teeth appear whiter.
The laser used for the teeth whitening treatment will activate the whitening agent. As a result, it creates faster and more dramatic results. The longer your enamel is exposed to the whitening gel, the lighter the smile. And depending on your desired whitening results–and your dentist’s recommendation–multiple treatments may be needed.
Compared to at-home teeth whitening
Stains on the teeth are typically located below the surface of the teeth. They can be found deep in the pores where toothpastes and over the counter products can’t reach. Whitening toothpastes can remove some surface stains. However, while they may slow the staining process but cannot remove deep set particles.
On the better end of the treatment spectrum is in-office laser teeth whitening. In-office treatments offer higher concentrations of peroxide, which helps to ensure the brightest smile. The light of the laser stimulates the whitening process and provides faster results in fewer treatments than at home options.
